1-2-1 Cancellation policy

If you need to cancel the 1-2-1 session, then please let us know with as much notice as possible. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the 1-2-1 session will not be refunded, unless we can fill that appointment with a similar booking. Extenuating circumstances will be considered and we may give the option to move the session to another mutually agreed time, however, the cancellation deadline remains the same 48 hours before the original session. If your session is part of a training package or multi-session deal the cancellation deadline is 48 hours before the first session of the booking.

Group Classes & Virtual Classes Cancellation policy

When booking a course please note that from your start date you must attend consecutive classes unless changes are made by the trainer. If you do not or cannot attend a class in the course, no compensation will be provided. A minimum of 2 weeks' cancellation notice is required to cancel the whole course with a refund.

Online Courses & Videos

Please note that no refunds are available for online courses once booked. Dog Nerd Training is not liable for any injury to self or others (canine or otherwise) or damage to property if it occurs whilst following online instruction.

Booking Procedure

All classes, 1-2-1 sessions, and online sessions are booked via our website or e-mail. E-mail confirmation of the booking will be sent to you, giving payment details and location etc. Your booking is only guaranteed when full payment is made. Payment is required upfront for all 1-2-1s, classes, and training packages. If payment is not received at least 48 hours before the date the appointment was arranged for 1-2-1 sessions, and 2 weeks before for classes, your appointment time/class slot will be released to other clients and a new booking/date or time will need to be arranged. For training packages/multi-session deals full payment is required 48 hours before the first session and all additional sessions paid for with the package must be booked within 3 months of the first session at a mutually convenient time or will be void.

Referrals and Discounts
If you are using a discount or voucher code you have received from us only £15 worth may be used towards a single service/booking at one time, beyond this any additional deals do not stack but can be saved for another booking. If you are using our referral scheme in order to get additional discounts the client referred needs to be a new client I haven't worked with before, and can only be used for their initial booking.

General Training Terms and Conditions for Clients

All dogs being trained must be fully vaccinated or have had a recent titer test confirming immunity (excluding early puppy sessions in the home) and be on a regular flea and worm control regime or have had a recent clear worm count. Proof of these may be requested by the trainer prior to the session.

No bitches in season may attend classes or outdoor 1-2-1 sessions.

All dogs must be kept on a lead during classes or 1-2-1 sessions unless otherwise instructed.

Clients should never let their dog approach another dog without the consent of the owner and/or the trainer present.

Pet Insurance is highly recommended. Owners are responsible for all vet bills, no matter how they are incurred.

All children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Any children who attend classes or 1-2-1 sessions are under the responsibility of the client. Children should not approach other clients' dogs without consent or appropriate instruction. If a child is causing disruption to a class we will have to ask you to leave and you will not be offered a refund.

We must be alerted to any of your dog's behavioural problems prior to accepting a booking, if a behavioural issue isn't disclosed before the booking we are not obligated to complete the session or class with you and there will be no refund.

Training sessions are held in a village hall and the terrain may be uneven and slippery in places. Please consider appropriate footwear etc.

We accept no responsibility for, loss of, or injury to, yourself, anyone in your care, or your dog whilst training with us.

We accept no responsibility for any damage to, theft of, or from, your vehicle. Please do not leave valuables in your car and never leave dogs unattended in a vehicle.

‘Y’ shapes harnesses are required to be used in class and 1-2-1 sessions. No choke, shock, bark collars, or similar are allowed in our classes or 1-2-1 sessions.

We know that using positive reinforcement is the most effective way to train dogs. We do not allow dogs to be handled forcefully during our training. The use of punishment as a training method has been proven to create negative side effects in dogs. If the dog’s guardian is seen to use such handling methods, they will be firstly re-educated, and if they continue to use the aversive methods, will be asked to leave and will not be offered a refund.

If you or someone you have come in contact with has COVID-19 you may not attend classes or 1-2-1 sessions until you are able to provide a negative COVID test, if this is not disclosed before the session we are not obligated to complete the session or class with you and there will be no refund.

Should a class or classes have to be cancelled by the trainer, due to bad weather, changes relating to Covid-19, or for other reasons, they will be carried out virtually via ‘Zoom’ where possible or rescheduled. If neither of these options are possible and multiple sessions are affected you will still receive your course materials and a partial refund for the sessions affected.

Should a 1-2-1 session have to be cancelled by a trainer, due to bad weather, changes relating to Covid-19, or for other reasons, the session will be rescheduled at the nearest mutually convenient time.
